First Holy Communion & the Sacrament of Reconciliation

First Holy Communion & the Sacrament of Reconciliation for children under 11 years.

As part of their journey in faith, young children from Year 3 onwards are invited to attend classes to prepare for their First Holy Communion and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Here in the Parish of the Sacred Heart and St Oswald, we have a structured programme of Learning for the children, delivered by experienced Catechists( who all have clear DBS clearance as per our Diocesan Policy.) We also like to involve parents and there will be a few sessions within the programme when at least one parent will be expected to attend a session with the Parish Priest and Catechists.

Regular Mass attendance by the family is expected!

If you would like your child to receive their Fist Holy Communion, please obtain an application form from the Parish office. Applications for the 2024/2025 programmes should be received by the Parish Office no later than the 30th September 2024. A meeting will then be called with the parents and the children to outline the details of the course.
