The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is the technical name given to the process of becoming a Christian or entering into full communion with the Catholic Church from another Christian denomination. The origins of the Rite date back to ancient times. From Apostolic times it has been part of the Church’s tradition to baptise adults after some form of instruction was given.
