Children’s Liturgy Group

CHILDREN’S LITURGY AT ST OSWALD’S CHURCH 10 AM MASS

PURPOSE

This group was formed with the purpose of explaining the Word of God to young children of Primary Age up until they receive their First Holy Communion in a way that is accessible to them.  A simple reading is proclaimed to them followed by an explanation and discussion.  The group then take part in a craft activity.

• The Group is held during the school terms and breaks for half term and end of term holidays.
• All the resources are provided for the session.
• A rota is drawn up for the Catechists.
• All Catechists involved in the Liturgy Group have a clear DBS and are authorised to work in this area by the Diocese and the Parish Priest.
