The Association aims to unite those who love Our Lady of Walsingham, support the national shrine and basilica in Norfolk and to promote pilgrimage.
The local Association was formed 30 years ago between the 3 Peterborough parishes of All Souls, Sacred Heart and St Oswald and St Lukes churches. There are 50 members with 3 honorary members, who pay a subscription to attend meetings, which are not always held in the same place. There is the opportunity to unite with others in prayer and devotion to Our Lady, attend retreats and go on pilgrimage together, alongside a regular newsletter.
The last meeting was held in December 2019 and since COVID, the Association has not been able to fulfil its aims.
In order to continue, new members are needed, and an Extraordinary General Meeting is required to elect some new officers to the roles of the branch, which include Chairman and Deputy Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer. Deacon Claudio Chiappinelli is the spiritual advisor.
You are invited to consider joining our branch, not necessarily as an officer, to deepen your love and knowledge of Our Lady, to prevent the branch slipping into abeyance and the support for our national shrine being lost.
