Safeguarding

The Catholic Church of England and Wales, the Bishops and Congregational leaders, are committed to 'Safeguarding' as an integral part of the life and ministry of the Church.

The Parish Safeguarding Representative has the special responsibility for promoting the good and safe practices in all activities involving children, young people and vulnerable adults within the parish as stated in the Safeguarding Resource Pack of the Roman Catholic Diocese of East Anglia.

The Safeguarding Representative is the link between the parish and the Diocese and as such is in regular contact with Diocesan Co-ordinator and Administrator.

The Parish Representative has the responsibility of facilitating that anyone who is involved or going to be involved in any Parish activity with children, young people and vulnerable adults has a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS checks) before commencing any involvement.

The Safeguarding Representative also has the responsibility to give advice on planning, risk assessment and appropriate activities in accordance with the Diocesan Safeguarding Resource Pack.
